Broomfield Emerges From The Dark Ages Into The Technology Light

Colorado’s City and County of Broomfield deployed Innoprise's CIS software in August 2006.  The new CIS system has equipped Broomfield’s Utility Billing department with tools to deliver improved customer service by replacing a legacy system that had been in place for 18 years.

"Our Utility Billing department has significantly reduced the amount of time we spend resolving billing discrepancy with our customers. Our new Innoprise system provides the ability to see an actual bill when talking to a customer.  Plus, within minutes, we can actually produce a duplicate bill and e-mail a copy to our customers.  These two features alone have helped us improve our customer service."

"Another time saving feature are the sophisticated filtering tools.  Our users can setup multiple selection criteria to quickly find information.  Users have the ability to sort data by each column by simply clicking on the column heading.  This makes the data so much easier to manipulate. These filtering tools have reduced the pre-billing review process by approximately 52 hours annually and saved a great deal of time in reviewing meter reading." 

"From a user perspective, another benefit is that pertinent information is available to users as soon as they log in to the system and users have the ability to tailor their working environment.  We like the ability that each user has to customize their screen with not only the individual columns they would like to see, but to be able to arrange the columns in the order that helps them the most."

The ability to export to Excel has provided the Utility Billing staff with the reporting tools to generate more reports on their own reducing the demand on the I.T. staff for report development."
