BROOMFIELD, CO - June 3, 2010. The City of Merced, California has contracted with Innoprise Software, Inc. for new ERP software that will replace the City's current system that had been in place since 1990. The City purchased Innoprise Financials, Payroll, Community Development, CIS, Work Orders and Fleet Management. The City of Merced marks Innoprise’s first customer in the state of California. Merced provides city services to approximately 80,542 citizens.
The City felt that it was time to improve efficiencies in lean times and began to evaluate their current software applications. “We realized that our operation costs were extremely high and our current legacy system only provided limited improved functionality in recent years”, said Jeff Lewis, Director of Information Technology for the City. “It became very clear that it was time for a change,” added Lewis. Merced’s existing system was based on green screen technology and the City desired an integrated web based system that is easy to use.
All modules within Innoprise’s entire ERP suite of software have a common look and feel, use an intuitive graphical interface, popular web browsers and are easy for users to learn and operate. Merced users can tailor their desktop and enjoy sophisticated search tools. All data in the system can be utilized to generate reports. The information can be displayed on the screen or used to produce reports in HTML, PDF, Excel and simple text formats.
The Innoprise application suite is comprised of new technology tools that will bring a new level of efficiency to the City of Merced. Integrated workflow streamlines standard business processes and eliminates redundancy empowering City users with much more flexibility than ever before. These workflow processes outline how users follow rules, perform actions and interact with one another to achieve a desired business goal. The workflow engine controls many business processes, such as billing, receivable, cash receipting and collection processes.
“Our GIS system data can be accessed within Innoprise applications,” said Lewis. Innoprise provides off the shelf integration with GIS by either syncing with the GIS system, or creating a link from the Innoprise land parcel record to a GIS viewer to view the map of the parcel. "The City is looking forward to utilizing this newer and more efficient technology to better serve our customers," added Lewis.
