BROOMFIELD, CO -
December 11, 2009. The City of Lawrence, Kansas has contracted with
Innoprise Software, Inc. for new ERP software that will replace the
City's current system that had been in place since 1987. The City
purchased Innoprise Financials, Payroll/HR, CIS, Community Development,
Work Orders and Centralized Cash Receipts software. The City of
Lawrence marks Innoprise’s first customer in the state of Kansas.
Lawrence provides city services to approximately 88,605 citizens.
The City of Lawrence found themselves in a situation where the
majority of technology personnel supporting their existing H.T.E.
Software (now SunGard H.T.E.), and the IBM AS/400, will retire in the
next few years. James Wisdom, Director of Information Systems for
the City explained that their AS/400 server needed to be replaced within
the next two years. “It seemed like the appropriate time to
evaluate our IT goals and the requirements for the future,” said
Wisdom. “Replacing our current legacy system with the Innoprise
applications will allow the City of Lawrence’s ERP system to remain on
par with the rest of the city’s up-to-date technologies,” added Wisdom.
The Innoprise application suite is comprised of new technology
tools based on native Internet architected solutions which enable
government officials to search, sort, analyze and print system data
instantly. All Innoprise applications have intuitive, tailored
interfaces, sophisticated search tools and integrated workflow engines
to make it easier for users to navigate and use the system.
Innoprise products are web applications and offer customers the
convenience of using a web browser. Internet web pages provide employees
with self-service features and remote access bringing eGovernment to
the public sector.
“Innoprise applications are easy to navigate and users don’t
have to sort between a myriad of menus,” said Wisdom. With
Innoprise, Lawrence users will be able to easily customize their screens
to display the information that is most pertinent to them and their job
duties along with enjoying the flexibility of the workflow system that
customizes the system to how they perform their business
processes. “City departments and end-users are looking forward to
being more self-sufficient in obtaining and extracting the data they
need to perform their jobs on a daily basis,” said Wisdom.
“Another benefit of the Innoprise system which seems very rare in the
software industry today is their licensing model allows for unlimited
user licenses. As a result, we will be able to provide the
Innoprise system to all of our employees,” added Wisdom.
