Greenwood Village, CO, Goes Live on Innoprise Community Development Software

BROOMFIELD, CO - May 27, 2008.  Innoprise Software, Inc. today announced that the Village of Greenwood Village, Colorado, has deployed Innoprise Software, Inc.’s Community Development software.  Greenwood Village is live on Building Permits, Code Enforcement, and Planning & Zoning modules.  The Innoprise solution replaced their existing SunGard Public Sector (formerly H.T.E. Inc.) legacy applications that had been in place for 10 years. Greenwood Village, Colorado is situated in Arapahoe County, immediately south of Denver. The Village is a unique community with a population of approximately 14,200 residents and a "daytime" population made up of approximately 35,000 members of our business community.

The Village has been looking for a new application for several years. They investigated buying best of breed applications and paying to have them integrated.  They also looked at other ERP-style systems, and possibly development and support of their existing application in house. “The Innoprise application suite is the first solution that has taken the ERP-style application for municipal government and brought it into the world of current technology,” said Andy Atencio, Chief Technology Officer for the Village. “The openness of the application platform and system configuration combined with the data reporting functionality addresses our most significant areas of pain that the current systems provide us,” added Atencio.

“Our Community Development application has always been lacking flexibility in managing data and extracting data in to a useful format for reporting,” said Atencio. “The lack of flexibility also impacted the department’s ability to improve or change business processes to improve customer service and response. From a systems perspective management of the data in the previous system was cumbersome and at times expensive. Integration of data into the system from other sources like the County or the State typically cost significant amounts of money and time to accomplish, if it was even able to be done,” explained Atencio.

The features that have most impressed staff at the Village with their new Innoprise Community Development software are the ability to put reporting in the hands of all users, rather than just those who understand a complex reporting tool. Another key benefit is the ability for the departments to design a “best case” business process and then configure the software to support that process is also huge for the usability and efficiency of the application. “From an IT systems perspective we anticipate major cost savings by utilizing inexpensive Intel-based hardware rather than extremely expensive IBM mid-range systems and the expertise required to administer those systems.  Our new system will eventually save the Village a significant amount of operating expense,” said Atencio.
