BROOMFIELD, CO - April 27, 2010. The City of Centennial, Colorado has gone live on Innoprise Software, Inc.’s Community Development software.  Centennial is Colorado's newest city, located in the southern Denver metropolitan area and provides services to over 103,000 citizens.

Innoprise’s Community Development software replaces various databases and permitting systems that were previously used throughout the Planning and Development Department.  None of the City’s prior systems could talk to each other and a few of the databases were becoming unstable. According to Jeff Brasel, Principal Planner for the City, the Department did not have robust cross-checks in place between their various disciplines such as planning, building and engineering for coordination.  “We wanted a fully integrated, web-based Community Development system that provides us with the ability to be innovative in how we approach and improve our processes and interaction with our customers,” explained Brasel.

With Innoprise, Centennial can coordinate all of their procedures and processes from plan review, to permits, and through inspections in one easy to use application. “Since the system is web-based, we can easily deploy the application in the field to our inspectors when we are ready and eventually provide referral agencies access to electronic plan review and distribution.  We’ll be able to implement online electronic plan review and submittals for our customers as well,” added Brasel.  

“Implementing new software took a lot of effort, however the Innoprise system was very easy to configure and customize for our codes and procedures.” said Brasel.
Innoprise uses a workflow engine that controls many business processes, such as project review, inspections and permitting processes.  Innoprise worked with City to setup the workflow through the configuration of Centennial rules and associated actions. Centennial will be able to increase information sharing and collaboration across city departments to ultimately improve delivery of services to citizens with their new web-based Community Development system.
