BROOMFIELD, CO - February 3, 2009. The
City and County of Broomfield, Colorado, has gone live on Innoprise
Software, Inc.’s Financial Management software. The new software has
replaced a legacy system that no longer meets the city's changing
business requirements. Broomfield has been live on Innoprise’s
CIS/Utility Billing application since August 2006 and Community
Development since April 2008. The City and County has also purchased
Innoprise Tax. Broomfield is scheduled to deploy Innoprise Tax in Q3
2009. Broomfield has a growing population of over 50,000 and provides
city and county services, as well as water and sewer collection and
treatment services to over 20,000 customer accounts within the
boundaries of the City.
Greg Demko, Finance Director for the City explains that
Broomfield was ready to replace its legacy SunGard Public Sector
(formerly H.T.E. Inc.) financial software that had been in place for 18
years. "It was difficult to extract information from the system even
with utilizing additional third-party report writing software," said
Demko. "Navigating through all of the screens in our existing legacy
system was awkward for new employees to learn," added Demko.
“The green screens in our legacy Financial software were
cumbersome and not user friendly,” said Gloria Overholt, Accounting
Manager for Broomfield. According to Pat Soderberg, Broomfield’s
Deputy Director of Finance, extracting data from their previous system
was difficult and often involved IT resources. The new software offers
Microsoft™ Office integration and one-touch reporting enabling users
across the city to easily exchange data with desktop applications and
extract Information to Microsoft Excel to create even the most complex
ad hoc reports.
“Some of the new features we are enjoying are the ability to
view supporting documentation online, project reporting and electronic
workflow to assist in automating business processes,” said Joyce
Alberts, City and County Budget Officer. “Our business needs have
changed over the years and our legacy software was unable to keep up.
Innoprise software utilizes state-of-the-art technology which allows for
many advances in integration and functionality that were not available
to us before,” said Soderberg. “Broomfield is looking forward to
utilizing the new Innoprise financial applications to improve
departmental efficiency,” adds Soderberg.
