BROOMFIELD, CO - January 29,
2010. The City of Belton, MO, has gone live on Innoprise Software,
Inc.’s Financial Management software. The new software has
replaced a legacy system that no longer meets the city's changing
business requirements. Belton provides city services to approximately
25,000 citizens.
In September 2009, Belton purchased Innoprise’s Smart
Government Solution -- a totally integrated IBM hardware and Innoprise
software bundle. Innoprise Financial applications were preloaded
onto IBM’s Smart Cube server and shipped to the City providing a total
integration resulting in unprecedented simplicity and a rapid
implementation. The entire project took three months with a kick
off meeting in early October to Belton live on Innoprise Financials
early January.
Belton, like many cities acknowledged their business needs
changing over the years and their existing financial software was unable
to keep up. Innoprise applications are designed to grow with
local government needs by removing the bottlenecks created by outdated
legacy systems. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, Innoprise
applications offer many advances in integration and functionality that
software designed in past years are unable to provide.
Mike Wade, Director of Finance for the City explains that
Belton was ready to replace its financial software that had been in
place for almost 12 years. "It was difficult to access data and custom
report capabilities were extremely cumbersome," said Wade. "There were
basic flaws in how some transactions are processed from an accounting
perspective," added Wade. The new software offers Microsoft™ Office
integration and one-touch reporting enabling users across the city to
easily exchange data with desktop applications and extract Information
to Microsoft Excel to create even the most complex custom reports.
Belton users are happy with the incredibly easy access to data and
ability to then format the data into a variety of reports.
Wade said, “The set up and configuration process was very
simple. Our use of the help desk has been limited, but when we
used it I was very impressed!” Belton has been amazed with the ease of
use and very short learning curve for basic functions. “We are
looking forward to improving departmental efficiency with new features
of Innoprise Financials,” added Wade.
