BROOMFIELD, CO – November
19, 2008. Dennis Harward, CEO and President of Innoprise Software, Inc.
presents his vision for the future of governmental financial systems
at Florida’s Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA) Meeting.
The workshop is titled Advances in Integrated Software for
Government. The FGFOA serves more than 2,700 professionals from
state, county, and city governments. The meeting is being held at
St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Harward family has been involved in the creation and
implementation of governmental financial software for over 30 years.
Jack Harward was the first IT director for Seminole County and
implemented the very first computer system for Seminole County in the
late 70's. In 1981, Jack enticed Dennis Harward to come to Florida to
build a new generation of governmental financial software for the IBM
mid-range platforms. This product (Government Management and Budgetary
Accounting - GMBA) became an industry standard and was installed in more
than 1,000 governmental agencies in every state of the union. The
company that Dennis founded (SunGard HTE Inc.,
formerly HTE Inc.) added more than 50
applications to the financial suite and was widely recognized as a
leader in the governmental software industry. Under Dennis' guidance,
the company grew from a start-up to more than 800 employees and $100
million in revenue. HTE Inc. was the first
governmental software company to go public and it once set the standard
for consolidation of the industry.
In 1999, Dennis recognized the need for a totally new
direction in the technology used to build governmental financial
systems and (under his holding company - Harward Investments) Dennis
assembled an elite team of software engineers to create the next
generation of governmental financial systems. In 2001, Innoprise
software was formed and began delivering the new technologies to
Customers. Since that time, Innoprise has created a full enterprise
suite and its systems are now successfully installed in more than 50
organizations across 15 states. Now based in Colorado, Innoprise has
set a new standard for cost effective, platform independent systems
that bring dramatic new functionality to government.
